Hudson Schools Cancel School

The Hudson school district cancelled school today due to extreme heat. Okay they never did that when I was a kid. Needless to say the boys were extremely excited to have an extra day off for the long weekend. Now if only my work would do that.

Back to School

Ahhh back to school time again. This year Patrick started third grade. His first day of school was great but recess was terrible. When asked why I was told that he didn’t want to talk about it. After much nagging I was told it wasn’t long enough. AJ started sixth grade this year. He was nervous at first but did like the new school.

Uncle Glenn clownig around

Yesterday we celebrated Draven and Payge’s birthday in Manchester. Kricket the clown entertained the kids with songs, jokes, silly games, magic tricks, facepainting, and balloon animals. The best part of her act was when she turned Uncle Glenn into a clown and had the kids throw balloons down his pants.

Erin Leigh “Gorgeous” Sullivan, 3, of Annapolis for three months and previously of Nashua, N.H., died suddenly June 25 at her home. She was born March 31, 2006, in Nashua, N.H. Her hobbies included Dance Dance Revolution and swinging, and she loved the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Henry C. Holmes Jr. She is survived by her father and mother, Edward Sullivan and Shani (Holmes) Sullivan, of Annapolis; her grandparents, Edward (Big Dad) Sullivan of Selbyville, Valerie (Granny) Sullivan of Annapolis and Kathleen (Grammie) Holmes of Nashua, N.H.; three aunts, Julianne Sullivan of New York, N.Y., Meghan Sullivan of Annapolis and Chelsea Holmes of Mass.; one uncle, Chris Holmes of Las Vegas, Nev.; and several great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.

Words can not express the loss of this precious little girl. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

All Star Game

On Saturday June 13th AJ played in his first All Star game. It was the East coast teams against the West coast teams. AJ being on the Dodgers was on the West coast team along with his best friend Austin. AJ pitched a good game, but you could tell he was really nervous. Unfortunately they lost the game. However he had a lot of fun playing it.

1. You can earn money. Amount ranges from time to time. The most I got was $60.00. Thanks honey.

2. Nintendo DS games are made really well since AJ’s Pokemon game has been through the washer & dryer three times and still works.

3. Crayons are a nightmare. You can save some of the clothes washing in really hot water.

4. Rocks can help in the washing process. Why buy a rock tumbler.

5. The Ipod shuffle is washer dryer safe.

6. No matter how many times you check the pockets something always turns up in the wash that shouldn’t be there.

Monster vs. Aliens

Yesterday Patrick went to a birthday party at Chunky’s. The movie was Monster vs. Aliens. If you are going to see this movie I would find the 3D version and see that. I was a little disappointed with the movie. Of course I made a mistake and thought the movie was made by Pixar, but it was made by Dreamworks. All in all it only had a few funny parts.

Opening Day For The Dodgers

Yesterday was opening day for the Hudson Little League. AJ’s game was at 3:30 in the afternoon. We prayed for the rain to hold off until his game was over and it did. The Dodgers played the Lions and it was a great game. AJ had some solid hits he got a couple of doubles one of them should have been a triple it was a line drive deep into center field. AJ played 1st base, shortstop, and pitching. He made an awesome play as pitcher when he got the guy coming home out. All and all it was a great afternoon.

The Farland-Vermette Slopes Are Open!

Come one, Come all to the Farland-Vermette Slopes. We just had some fresh powder added and the conditions are excellent. The closest run to the brook this year so far is two feet set by Austin Roberts. See if you can break the record or are you scared? The all-time records are by Dianne and Donald which are actually landing in the brook. The all time record is going over the brook and into the road. Aaaahhh the good old days. Reservations can be made by calling Dianne.
